Matthew Wayne Norden Obituary, CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — Matthew Wayne Norden, 35, of Hollow Rock, Tennessee, has died following a fatal vehicle crash on Vale McKenzie Road on Monday evening, August 3.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Norden was traveling west on Vale McKenzie Road when the 2024 Nissan Frontier he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch, and then struck a tree.

Norden was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash. The incident prompted a response from multiple emergency agencies, including the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Carroll County Fire Department, Baptist EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and other responders.

Born April 21, 1991, in McKenzie, Tennessee, Norden was the son of Richard Norden and Tammy Brown Jones. He was remembered through his obituary as a member of the Hollow Rock community whose passing has left family and loved ones mourning his loss.

Norden is survived by his parents, his son John Wayne Norden, his daughter Zowey Renee Norden, and his brother Richard Adam Norden.

A celebration of life service for Norden will be held Saturday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at Galilee General Baptist Church, located at 250 Rogers Lane in Bruceton. Bro. Paul Hollingsworth will officiate the service, and the family will receive friends from noon until the start of the ceremony.

Matthew Wayne Norden’s passing following the Vale McKenzie Road crash has brought sadness to those who knew him. His family, friends, and community members are honoring his memory as they gather to remember his life and legacy.
