Caleb Metcalf Obituary, GRAND BLANC, Mich. — Caleb Metcalf, an 18-year-old recent graduate of Flushing High School and promising football player, has died after a vehicle crash in Grand Blanc, Michigan, ending the life of a young athlete who was preparing to begin his college football career at Lawrence Technological University.
According to police, Metcalf was riding in the back seat of a vehicle with four other men when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed through the wall of a home. Metcalf was ejected from the vehicle and was later taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. He was 18 years old.
Metcalf had recently graduated from Flushing High School and was preparing for the next chapter of his life. A 6-foot-3 wide receiver, he had earned an opportunity to continue his football career at Lawrence Tech and was only weeks away from beginning his freshman season with the university’s football program.
