Monique Crashon Gardner Obituary, LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. — Monique Crashon Gardner, 35, of Lafayette County, has died after a residential fire was reported early Saturday morning on County Road 369, according to authorities.
Lafayette County E-911 received a report of the house fire at approximately 4:30 a.m., with information that a person might be trapped inside the residence. Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene as firefighters and other first responders worked to address the emergency.
Responding agencies included the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette County Fire Department, Oxford Fire Department, Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office and Baptist Ambulance Service. Despite the efforts of first responders, Gardner was found deceased inside the residence.
The circumstances surrounding the fire and Gardner’s death remain under investigation. The Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and Lafayette County Fire Department.
