CONSTANCE LAKE FIRST NATION, ON — Authorities have lifted a community safety bulletin that had asked residents of Constance Lake First Nation to remain indoors while police responded to and investigated a shooting-related incident.

Police respond to firearm-related call
In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 29, 2026, members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), Constance Lake First Nation Detachment, responded to a call involving a firearm.
Investigators subsequently determined that the incident occurred at a residence within the community.
Police located an adult male victim who had sustained injuries in what investigators describe as an apparent shooting.
Victim transported to hospital
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured man to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
