Trenton Mass Shooting: Two Killed and Nine Injured After Gunfire Erupts at Large Gathering
TRENTON, N.J. — A mass shooting in Trenton early Sunday morning left two people dead and nine others injured, after gunfire erupted during a large gathering on Locust Street, authorities said.
The shooting happened at approximately 12:25 a.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the area of Locust Street. Trenton police responded after receiving reports of multiple shots fired.
Eleven people shot
When officers arrived, they discovered multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police confirmed that 11 people were shot during the incident. Two victims were pronounced dead, while the other nine were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the two people who died.
The medical conditions of the surviving victims had also not been fully released in the initial reports.
