🚨 Chattanooga Police Investigating Afternoon Shooting on Wilson Street

47-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Gunfire Reported in Chattanooga Neighborhood

The Chattanooga Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 1500 block of Wilson Street.

According to police, officers responded around 12:00 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.

Victim Later Arrived at Hospital

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered multiple shell casings scattered throughout the area, indicating gunfire had occurred moments earlier.

Shortly afterward, a 47-year-old male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s identity at this time.

Detectives and Crime Scene Units Responded

Investigators with CPD’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to process evidence and begin interviewing witnesses.

Police say the preliminary investigation suggests:

The victim and suspect were known to one another
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident
There is currently no ongoing threat to the public
