According to preliminary information from authorities, officers were first called around 5:00 a.m. on May 14, 2026, to an apartment in the 1400 block of North 78th Place after a woman reported a disturbance involving her adult son. The situation escalated later that morning when officers returned to the residence for a second call for assistance.
