Yk Jenae Found Dead: Teen Girl Found Dead in Stagg Crescent Home, Death Ruled Homicide

Moose Lake RCMP are investigating after a 17-year-old girl was found dead early Tuesday morning in Mosakahiken Cree Nation.

On May 12, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of an injured person at a residence on Stagg Crescent. When police arrived, they located the teenager inside the home. She was later identified by loved ones as Yk Jenae and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have confirmed the death is being treated as a homicide. Investigators have not released additional details about what happened or whether any suspects have been identified. The residence was secured as officers began collecting evidence and speaking with individuals who may have information.

Moose Lake RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crimes Services and Forensic Identification Services, remain actively involved in the investigation. Officials say efforts are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death and to identify those responsible.
