The Norwich community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 22-year-old Dylan Stamour, who died following a tragic vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 395 near Exit 11.
According to Connecticut State Police, Troop E responded to the area just before 3 a.m. after reports of a crash involving a pedestrian on I-395 North. When first responders arrived, they immediately began CPR on the victim in a desperate attempt to save his life.
Stamour was transported to Backus Hospital, where Norwich Fire officials confirmed he later died from his injuries.
His sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones devastated, as they struggle to come to terms with a life taken far too soon in an unexpected and tragic moment. Those who knew him are now remembering him with deep sorrow, holding tightly to memories of his presence, his life, and the impact he had on those around him.
During the emergency response, the Route 82 on-ramp to I-395 North was temporarily closed as authorities secured the scene and conducted an investigation. The ramp has since reopened.
Connecticut State Police say the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant video or information to contact Trooper Christopher Brett #691 at 860-848-6500 ext. 6500.
As Norwich grieves, the community continues to extend prayers, condolences, and support to Stamour’s family during this difficult time.
