A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of his mother at a Clayton apartment complex on Monday morning.
According to Clayton Police, officers responded just before 11 a.m. to the Heritage Court Apartments at 509 E. Main St., where they discovered a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was identified as 65-year-old Robie Annette Sanders, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities arrested 43-year-old Michael Corteze Sanders, who has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing.
Officials confirmed that an autopsy is scheduled, while the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active investigation. Police have not released additional details at this time as the case continues.
