According to officials, the shooting was reported shortly before 5:50 p.m., prompting a rapid response from multiple law enforcement agencies. What began as a call initially linked to the 10 block of Pipeline Road was quickly updated to a nearby location on Dallas Circle, where emergency crews ultimately converged.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 21-year-old man, later identified by Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables as Reginald Young III, lying unresponsive in the yard of a residence. Despite emergency efforts, Young was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:22 p.m. The coroner confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound to the body.

The sudden violence unfolded in an otherwise residential area, sending shockwaves through neighbors who described a heavy police presence as marked units, along with several unmarked vehicles, secured the scene. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Aiken Department of Public Safety, and supporting agencies remained on site for hours as investigators began the early stages of evidence collection and witness interviews.

At this time, authorities say there is no suspect information available, and no arrests have been made. Investigators have not released details on a possible motive, and it remains unclear what led up to the shooting.

Residents in the Shiloh Heights area were left unsettled as crime scene tape blocked off portions of the neighborhood, marking yet another moment of violence that has left a young life lost far too soon.

Reginald Young III’s death adds to a growing list of recent gun-related incidents that continue to raise concern across the community. As investigators work to piece together what happened in the moments before the shooting, officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
