According to authorities, Homewood police responded to a residence in the 2400 block of 175th Street after receiving reports of an unresponsive woman inside the home. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a female victim inside the residence suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
