According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash occurred during the evening of Sunday, June 28, near the intersection of Thomson Road and Kangas Road in Thomson Township. Investigators reported that the vehicle left the roadway, resulting in a catastrophic crash.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Tyler was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the vehicle’s passenger, Alexander Wheeler, 26, of Barnum, sustained critical injuries. He was airlifted by LifeLink to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, where he remains under medical care.
