It is with profound sadness that family, friends, and the global HartiSWIM community mourn the sudden passing of Sascha Hartmann, the visionary founder of HartiSWIM, whose creativity, compassion, and artistic brilliance touched countless lives around the world. His unexpected death has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Only weeks before his passing, Sascha and the HartiSWIM team celebrated a milestone at Miami Swim Week, showcasing the brand’s unique fusion of wearable art, music, storytelling, and ocean conservation. No one could have imagined that such a joyful celebration would be followed by heartbreaking loss.
Sascha was far more than the founder of HartiSWIM—he was its creative soul. Every collection began with one of his original paintings, transforming fine art into fashion. His talent also extended to music, where his original compositions reflected the same passion, imagination, and authenticity that defined every aspect of his life. Together with his wife, Tessa Hartmann, the company’s creative director, he built an internationally admired brand inspired by creativity, family, and purpose.
Beyond his artistic achievements, Sascha will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father to Valentina, Tallia, Johnnie, and Zachary. Friends describe him as a true gentleman whose kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit made everyone feel welcome.
A funeral Mass celebrating Sascha’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. at San Giorgio Catholic Church, Piazza San Giorgio, Castagnola, Lugano 6976, Switzerland. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola to share stories and celebrate his remarkable life. Those unable to attend are asked to keep the Hartmann family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
