Corbin Merrill Obituary, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA — A tragic search for missing 4-year-old Corbin Merrill has ended in heartbreak after the child was found deceased on the west side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). The discovery was made after an extensive search effort that began shortly after his disappearance on Saturday afternoon.
Police said Corbin was reported missing at approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 4, 2026, after he was last seen leaving a residence in the 2800 block of Montclair Drive, near South Lynhurst Drive and West Troy Avenue. Authorities believe the child left the area on foot.
At the time he went missing, Corbin was described as wearing an orange shirt, brown shorts, and sandals featuring the video game character Luigi. He was approximately 2 feet tall, weighed around 24 pounds, and had short blonde hair and brown eyes.
Following the missing child report, IMPD officers launched a large-scale search operation across the surrounding neighborhood. The effort included officers on foot, drone units, and assistance from the Indianapolis Fire Department Search and Rescue Team, all working urgently to locate the young boy.
Despite these extensive search efforts, authorities later confirmed that Corbin had been located deceased. Police have not released information regarding where he was found or the circumstances surrounding his death, stating that the investigation remains active.
