Billingham, Wynyard, Stockton-on-Tees, UK: Police are investigating a stabbing in Billingham, County Durham, after a man was seriously injured in an assault that prompted a major emergency response. According to police, officers were called to Neasham Avenue shortly before 6:00 p.m. following reports of an assault. The victim, a 23-year-old man, was found with injuries believed to be stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities have said his injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.
As part of the investigation, officers attended an address on Braid Crescent, where a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent (Section 18 wounding). A vehicle was also seized for forensic examination. Later, a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the same investigation and remains subject to police questioning.
Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has doorbell camera, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the Neasham Avenue area around 5:45 p.m. to contact Cleveland Police. Investigators believe any footage from the area could prove vital in helping establish the sequence of events.
