The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a series of violent incidents that occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
The investigation began following reports of a shooting at Al’s Trailer Park in Gray, where at least two individuals sustained gunshot wounds. Preliminary information indicates that two male suspects fled the area following the shooting, one of whom is believed to have sustained a gunshot wound during the incident.
Investigators have determined that the suspects subsequently carjacked an innocent male victim, who was shot during the commission of the crime. The victim’s vehicle was stolen as the suspects fled the area.
The Louisiana State Police located the carjacking victim and obtained critical vehicle information, which was immediately shared with responding law enforcement agencies. Detectives with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Houma Police Department, later located the stolen vehicle near Prospect Boulevard, leading to a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed the stolen vehicle, and both individuals were taken into custody without further incident.
Multiple victims associated with these incidents have been transported to out-of-area hospitals for medical treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events and all circumstances surrounding these incidents.
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is working in coordination with the Louisiana State Police, Houma Police Department, and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
