The LaGrange community is mourning the tragic loss of 20-year-old Alexander Brooks, who was killed in a devastating head-on crash Wednesday evening on GA-219 near Murphy Road in Troup County, Ga.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 6:05 p.m. on May 6, 2026, involving a Pontiac Grand Prix and a Toyota Prius. Investigators say the Pontiac crossed into the opposite lane while negotiating a curve, resulting in a violent head-on collision.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, where all four occupants were found unconscious and unresponsive. They were transported to WellStar West Georgia Hospital for urgent medical care.
The driver of the Pontiac, Alexander Brooks, was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Troup County Coroner Erin Hackley.
