Police Say Shooting in North Hill Co-op Parking Lot Appears Targeted
Authorities in Calgary are continuing to investigate a deadly shooting that occurred Monday evening in the parking lot of the North Hill Co-op, leaving one man dead and another critically injured.
The violent incident prompted a major police response and temporary lockdown at the busy grocery store as investigators secured the scene.

Suspects Fled Before Officers Arrived
Investigators say the suspects fled the area before police arrived and no arrests have been announced at this time.
Despite the severity of the incident, police stated they believe the shooting was targeted and that there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.

Store Locked Down During Active Response
As a precautionary measure, the North Hill Co-op was temporarily placed under lockdown while officers secured the area and ensured the safety of employees and customers inside the building.
Officials later confirmed the lockdown was lifted once the immediate threat had passed.
Although no formal road closures were implemented, police are urging residents to avoid the area while investigators continue processing evidence at the scene.
