The Fairbanks community and loved ones are mourning the tragic loss of Jonathan Wright, 42, who died following a violent stabbing at a residence on Stewart Street on Sunday morning.
According to the Fairbanks Police Department, officers responded around 10:00 a.m. on May 10 after a 911 call reporting a male victim had been stabbed. When officers arrived, they found Wright with a stab wound to the chest. He was unresponsive, and life-saving efforts were immediately provided before he was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones devastated as they struggle to process the circumstances surrounding the loss. Those who knew him are remembering Jonathan as a loved one whose life mattered deeply, and whose absence leaves a painful void in the lives of those closest to him.
Authorities confirmed that Wright’s next of kin have been notified as investigators continue working to understand what led to the incident inside the home on Stewart Street.
