A quiet early morning in Rusk County, Wisconsin, turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 53-year-old Jason Davis of Ladysmith, leaving family, friends, and the entire community in mourning.
According to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at approximately 4:40 a.m. when the Rusk County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a crash on Highway 8 near Bell School Road.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a pickup truck that had left the roadway, crossed the centerline, and entered the ditch. Investigators reported that the vehicle then struck a driveway culvert, launching it into the air before it collided with a power pole.
