Authorities in Arouca are investigating a deadly shooting that left one person dead and two others injured late Thursday night along the Eastern Main Road near Lopinot Road.
Investigators are now examining whether the incident may be connected to a separate shooting reported days earlier in the Thomas Trace area as concerns over escalating gun violence continue to grow.
Victims Targeted While Traveling in Vehicle
According to preliminary reports, gunfire erupted near the busy roadway on the night of May 14, 2026, striking multiple occupants inside a vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived to find three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officials confirmed:
One victim died inside the vehicle at the scene
Two additional victims were injured and transported for medical treatment
Their current conditions have not yet been officially released
Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased pending notification of family members.
