The Keytesville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ashley Adams, 43, who died late Saturday night following a tragic motorcycle crash on Highway 24 near the Chariton River bridge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on May 16, 2026, about three miles east of Keytesville. Investigators said a 47-year-old man from Brookfield was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it left the roadway for reasons still under investigation. Both the driver and passenger were ejected upon impact.
Adams, who was riding as a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was later transported by the Chariton County Coroner to Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by MU1 to University Hospital in Columbia, where he remains under medical care.
Authorities said the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
