A shooting investigation is underway after a homeowner allegedly shot an individual during a reported break-in early Monday morning at the Trenton Village apartment complex in Clarksville.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded at approximately 1:40 a.m. to Trenton Village Apartments, located at 2740 Trenton Road, following reports of a shooting that had already occurred upon their arrival.
Preliminary findings indicate that a homeowner confronted a man who had reportedly forced entry into her residence. During the encounter, the homeowner discharged a firearm, striking the suspect multiple times.
Emergency responders provided aid at the scene before the injured individual was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville by AirEvac for further medical treatment. Authorities said the victim’s current condition remains unknown.
Investigators stated that all parties involved are cooperating with law enforcement, and officials emphasized that there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.
Detectives continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, and additional details have not yet been released.
