Mobile police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the 1100 block of O’Donnell Street, leaving one man dead and four others injured.
According to authorities, officers responded to the scene just before 2 a.m. and discovered a male victim outside a residence suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have not officially released the identity of the deceased. However, social media has since been filled with emotional tributes identifying the victim as “Ruger Riptay.”
Investigators also confirmed that four additional victims—three women and one man—arrived at local hospitals shortly after the shooting with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries believed to be connected to the incident.
As news of the tragedy spread, friends and loved ones shared heartbreaking messages online expressing shock and grief.
“You just talked to me yesterday… tell me this not true,” one friend wrote.
Others described him as a loyal friend, a brother, and a father figure whose loss has left many devastated.
At this time, authorities have not announced any arrests or released information about possible suspects. Police say the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no further details are being released.
