🚨 Woman Injured in Homewood Shooting; Suspect Vehicle Flees Scene in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh police are investigating a shooting in the Homewood neighborhood that left one woman injured and prompted a response from Major Crimes detectives and the Mobile Crime Unit.

The incident was reported in the area of Frankstown Avenue within Pittsburgh Police Zone 5. According to preliminary information, officers arriving on scene located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the knee. Medics treated the woman at the scene, and authorities later indicated the injury may have been a graze wound.

Emergency crews also treated a second individual who reportedly sustained a dislocated shoulder during the incident. No additional gunshot victims were located during the initial search of the area.

Investigators say a white vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting fled the scene without headlights, traveling down Sterrett Street shortly after the gunfire erupted.

Police secured the area while detectives and forensic personnel began processing evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. Pittsburgh Police Major Crimes Detectives, along with the Mobile Crime Unit, were requested to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not yet released suspect information or disclosed what may have led to the shooting. The case remains active as investigators continue gathering evidence and reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
