Richard DiMauro Car Accident: Fatal Seymour Crash Claims Life of Oxford Resident

Oxford is mourning the tragic loss of 79-year-old Richard DiMauro, who died following a devastating head-on crash Friday night near the intersection of Great Hill and Southwest roads in Seymour.

According to police, the crash occurred at approximately 8:55 p.m. when DiMauro was driving a 1930 Model-A Ford that collided head-on with a Ford F-350 pickup truck. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found DiMauro unresponsive following the impact.

He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven for emergency treatment, where he was later pronounced deceased, according to the Seymour Police Department.

The driver of the Ford F-350, a 41-year-old Seymour resident, was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. Officials said his injuries are non-life-threatening. His name has not been released.

Authorities confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation. Great Hill Road was closed for more than two hours as police processed the scene with assistance from the Connecticut State Police.
