Annabelle’s mother, Candace Hollon, a well-known Colorado Springs realtor, shared the devastating news publicly, describing her daughter as not only her child, but also her very best friend.

“On Monday night, the day after Mother’s Day, we lost Annabelle,” Candace wrote. “My best friend. Our oldest baby girl. At 13 years old.”

Those closest to Annabelle describe her as a beautiful soul whose presence brought light, love, and warmth to everyone around her. Friends and family members say she had a caring spirit, a bright personality, and a way of making people feel valued and loved. Her death has left an enormous void in the lives of those who knew her, especially within her family, where she was deeply cherished.

The grief surrounding Annabelle Hollon’s death has resonated throughout Colorado Springs, where community members have rallied around the family in extraordinary ways. In the days following the tragedy, loved ones organized support efforts to help ease the overwhelming emotional and financial burdens now facing the Hollon family. A GoFundMe fundraiser was created to assist with funeral expenses and family travel costs, while a Give In Kind meal train has allowed friends, neighbors, and supporters to provide meals, gift cards, and daily assistance during this heartbreaking period.

Candace Hollon expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support surrounding her family since Annabelle died. Friends reportedly stepped in immediately — remaining beside the family, covering work responsibilities, traveling from out of state, and helping shoulder responsibilities during the earliest and most painful moments of grief.

“We feel so loved and supported,” Candace shared. “I am so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love from family and close friends.”

“I genuinely do not have words to express the pain we are feeling,” she wrote. “Losing a child puts you in the worst club to be a part of. I am in such shock and disbelief. I just want my baby girl back.”

She also asked for continued prayers for Annabelle’s siblings, particularly her brother Xander, whose trauma and grief have deeply affected those close to the family.

“Please pray for Xander,” Candace wrote. “Finding your sister in that state has to be absolutely gut wrenching. My poor babies… all of them.”
