According to the Modesto Police Department, officers responded shortly after 9:20 a.m. to a reported disturbance at a residence. When they arrived, they found Fabiola Gonzalez suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
As officers continued searching the home, they discovered 54-year-old Silvia Nuñez and newborn Baby Mateo, both also suffering from apparent stab wounds. Investigators later located and arrested 28-year-old Joaquin Escoto inside a nearby residence. He was taken into custody without incident. Officials stated that Escoto shared a child with Fabiola Gonzalez.
