Authorities have identified the woman who was fatally stabbed inside a Skyline Chili restaurant in Norwood on Tuesday as 27-year-old Alyssa Hill, a mother of two young children.
The stabbing occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the Skyline Chili location on Montgomery Road. Responding officers found Hill suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the restaurant. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Rick Wright was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with murder in connection with Hill’s death. Investigators allege that Wright stabbed Hill, who worked at the restaurant, before fleeing the scene.
Authorities say Wright and Hill were previously involved in a relationship, and court records identify him as her ex-boyfriend.
During Wright’s initial court appearance on Wednesday, a judge ordered that he be held without bond pending a detention hearing scheduled for Friday.
Prosecutors also revealed details about Wright’s criminal history during the hearing. According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, Wright has prior convictions for assault, menacing, robbery, drug trafficking, and carrying a concealed weapon. Court records further show that he had an active warrant for his arrest after allegedly violating probation related to an assault case from February 2025.
Speaking in court, Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office representative Sarah McMahon described Hill as “a mother, daughter, co-worker and a friend,” highlighting the profound loss her death has caused for her loved ones and the community.
McMahon also argued that Wright poses a significant threat to public safety, citing what she described as a lengthy history of violent behavior.
The tragic killing has left family members, friends, and co-workers mourning the loss of Hill, whose family said she leaves behind two young children.
The Norwood Police Department continues to investigate the fatal stabbing as the case moves through the court system.
