According to authorities, Malik, of Chaptico, was driving a pickup truck Tuesday morning when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
