The Stanford, Kentucky, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Pierce Lenton Hinkston, who passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 20. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on February 25, 2006, in Lexington, Kentucky, Pierce was the beloved son of Bryan Lenton Hinkston and Sara Ledford Slone. He graduated from Danville High School in 2024, where he was a proud member of the school’s wrestling team. His determination, competitive spirit, and dedication to his teammates earned him the respect of coaches and fellow athletes alike.

Outside of school, Pierce embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. An avid gamer, he enjoyed spending time online with friends, creating friendships and memories that extended far beyond the screen. At home, he loved wrestling with his younger brother, sharing playful moments that his family will forever cherish.

Pierce also had a deep love for animals, especially his faithful dog, Stan, who was a constant companion, as well as his affection for cats. Those closest to him remember his playful personality and his habit of teasing his brothers and sisters in ways that always reflected the deep love he had for his family.

A creative individual, Pierce found joy in photography, capturing the beauty of everyday life through his camera lens. He also enjoyed cooking and was always eager to try new recipes or experiment with unique dishes. Whether preparing a meal at home or dining out, he was known for ordering the most adventurous or expensive item on the menu, embracing every opportunity to experience something new.

Pierce is survived by his mother, Sara Slone (Clay); his father, Bryan Hinkston (Sara Young); five siblings, Bryce Hill, Gabe Hinkston, Raelynn Slone, Kayla Slone, and Kirsten Slone; his grandparents, great-grandmothers, aunts, cousins, and many extended family members who will continue to treasure his memory. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Chris Hinkston, and his cousin, Alexis Murphy.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Pierce’s life during a one-day service on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
