According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the intersection of US Highway 45 South and Old US Highway 45. Investigators reported that Rogers was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima eastbound on Old US Highway 45 when he attempted to cross US Highway 45 South.
Authorities said a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by Cynthia Wilhelm, 68, of Paducah, was traveling southbound on US Highway 45 South when the two vehicles collided in a broadside impact.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and provided assistance to both drivers. Rogers was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased. Wilhelm was also taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
