Family, friends, and members of the Maple Shade community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Patrick S. McGonigle, a proud U.S. Navy veteran, devoted husband and father, and cherished friend, who passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 39. His passing has left a deep void among those who knew and loved him, but his legacy of service, generosity, and unwavering loyalty will continue to be remembered.
Born on March 22, 1987, Patrick was the eleventh of twelve children in the close-knit McGonigle family. Growing up surrounded by siblings and a strong sense of family, he learned the importance of compassion, responsibility, and always being there for the people he cared about. Those values shaped the person he became and guided the way he lived his life.
Friends often remembered Patrick as someone who could always be counted on. Whether offering support during difficult moments or simply being present when someone needed him, he had a reputation for putting others first. Many who knew him described him as the kind of person who would go out of his way to help, no matter the time or circumstance.
A 2006 graduate of Maple Shade High School, Patrick was active in football and wrestling, where he developed the strength, discipline, and determination that would serve him throughout his life. After attending Williamson Trade School and discovering his passion for carpentry, he chose a path of service by joining the United States Navy.
Patrick proudly served as a member of the Navy’s Construction Battalion, known as the Seabees, embracing their motto, “We Build, We Fight.” During his five years of military service, he was stationed in several locations, including Diego Garcia, Japan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, and Iraq. His dedication and commitment reflected the values of service, courage, and sacrifice.
Beyond his military career, Patrick was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was remembered as a loving husband, caring father, and loyal friend whose presence brought strength and comfort to those around him.
As Maple Shade honors Patrick S. McGonigle’s life, the community is reflecting on the remarkable impact he made through his kindness, service, and dedication to others. His memory will continue to live on through the people he inspired and the many lives he touched.
