The Hallett Cove, South Australia, community is mourning the tragic loss of a 21-year-old woman from Hallett Cove who died following a serious two-vehicle crash on Tuesday night. The fatal collision has left family, friends, and loved ones devastated as police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to South Australia Police, emergency services were called at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, to the intersection of Barramundi Drive and Lonsdale Road after reports of a collision involving a Nissan station wagon and a Subaru sedan.

Police said the 21-year-old female driver of the Nissan, from Morphett Vale, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. A 20-year-old female passenger was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Tragically, another passenger in the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman from Hallett Cove, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Subaru, from Aberfoyle Park, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene, with road closures remaining in place for several hours while forensic examinations were carried out. The affected roads have since reopened.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have captured dashcam footage in the area around the time of the crash to contact Crime Stoppers or South Australia Police, quoting reference number 203164.

The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing, and police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.

The woman’s death marks the 73rd life lost on South Australian roads this year, highlighting the continued importance of road safety across the state.
