She was the daughter of Steven Webb Askew and Ronette Anderson Askew. She attended and graduated from Clemson University and Vanderbilt Law School.
Her law career was spent working for the state of Tennessee. She was first employed as an Assistant Attorney General in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office then as an Administrative Law Judge for the Tennessee Secretary of State. Finally, she was a Senior Associate Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
She loved, most of all, her sweet daughter, Natalie. She also loved her family, friends, and the practice of law. Especially dear to her was her friends from Clemson that had been with her for over 20 years through good times and bad. She also cherished the good friends she made while working for the state of Tennessee. She loved music; her playlists were amazing. She loved humor; attending or watching comedy shows. She loved the water, boating, and the beach.
Her favorite pastime was traveling. Our entire family met in Whistler, Canada last summer. Stephanie and Natalie had been to England, France, and most recently New York. They both enjoyed learning about history wherever they traveled.
