The latest discovery was reported Monday afternoon near the Stone Arch Bridge, in the area of 6th Avenue Southeast and Main Street Southeast. University of Minnesota police responded to the location after receiving a report and found a deceased man.

Few details have been released about the latest death, including the man’s identity, age or circumstances surrounding his death. Authorities have not indicated that the discovery is being treated as a homicide at this stage.

The latest case follows two other discoveries of bodies in Minneapolis over the preceding days. Authorities have not said that the three cases are connected, and investigators are still working to establish the circumstances and causes of death in each case.

The location of Monday’s discovery, near the Stone Arch Bridge and Mississippi River, drew a law enforcement response as investigators secured the area and began examining the circumstances surrounding the death. The University of Minnesota Police Department is leading the investigation into the latest discovery.

The repeated discoveries have generated concern among residents, particularly because they occurred within such a short period. However, authorities have cautioned against assuming a connection between the cases without evidence.

Officials have not yet released information about whether there were signs of foul play, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to play a role in determining the cause and manner of death.

Investigators are expected to gather additional evidence, speak with witnesses and review information from the surrounding areas as they attempt to establish what happened.

At this time, there is no confirmed indication of a serial offender or coordinated series of killings. The three cases remain separate investigations unless authorities determine otherwise.

The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected as officials work to identify the deceased man and determine how he died.
