Born on May 18, 2007, in Kansas City, Kansas, Harper was the son of retired U.S. Army Brigadier General David Clifford Foley and Claire White Foley. Due to his father’s military career, Harper experienced a childhood marked by frequent moves across the United States, living in places such as Kentucky, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Florida. Despite these constant transitions, he grew into a resilient and adaptable young man who built meaningful friendships wherever he went.

Among all the places he lived, Brent, Alabama, remained especially close to his heart. It was there that he shared cherished moments with his maternal grandparents, Judge James Mordecai White and Katherine Moseley White, creating lasting memories through outdoor activities, family gatherings, and time spent exploring nature. Brent ultimately became the place where his life will be honored and remembered.

Harper had a deep passion for soccer, a sport he began playing at the age of three. Throughout his life, soccer served as a constant source of joy and connection, helping him bond with teammates and form friendships in every new community. He played for multiple teams over the years and later graduated from Lansing High School in Kansas in 2025, where he was an active member of the Lansing Lions soccer team.

Following high school, Harper enrolled at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, a place that held special meaning for him due to his lifelong love for the Crimson Tide. While there, he became a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Beta Chapter, where he found a strong sense of brotherhood and belonging. His fraternity brothers, along with close friends and teammates, remain among those most deeply affected by his passing.

Harper is survived by his parents, David Clifford Foley and Claire White Foley, and his two brothers, Franklin Price Foley and Alexander Gates Foley. He is also remembered by his extended family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who all held him dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and great-grandmother.

The cause of Harper’s death has been described only as a brief illness, with no further details publicly disclosed. His passing was unexpected, and his family has expressed that they are still searching for understanding while navigating their grief.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Brent, Alabama. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Brent Baptist Church, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Brent City Cemetery. His brothers, relatives, and close friends will serve as pallbearers, while his fraternity brothers and former teammates will be honored as honorary pallbearers.

Harper Foley’s life, though brief, was one marked by love, adaptability, and deep connections. From the many places he called home to the lasting relationships he built, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
