RICHMOND, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting in the 4100 block of Richmond Highway after an adult male was seriously wounded and transported to a local hospital.
According to the initial police report, officers were called to the area at approximately 4:52 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Investigation underway
Police immediately began securing the area and investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Detectives are working to determine what led to the gunfire, where the shooting occurred and whether the victim and the person responsible knew one another.
