Alejo A. Garcia Obituary-Car Accident: Community Mourn the loss of 27-Years-Old Alejo A. Garcia who Tragically lost his life in a Devastating Three-Vehicle Collision
With heavy hearts, we remember Alejo A. Garcia, 27, of Mexico, who tragically lost his life Tuesday afternoon, September 1, in a devastating three-vehicle collision on U.S. 2 west of Cashmere, Washington.
The crash happened at approximately 4:22 p.m. near milepost 107, about four miles west of Cashmere. According to the Washington State Patrol, 74-year-old Patrick S. Marshall of Wenatchee was driving eastbound when his vehicle approached a vehicle that had stopped in the eastbound lane while attempting to turn left into a private driveway.
Marshall’s vehicle struck the stopped vehicle from behind, then rolled and collided with a third vehicle traveling westbound. The first two vehicles came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes, while the third vehicle stopped across the westbound lanes.
Alejo was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck from behind. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. State Patrol reported that Alejo was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of Alejo’s vehicle, Pablo Roman Moralez, 53, of Terra Bella, California, was injured and transported to Central Washington Hospital. Three other passengers—Dario Artrisco, 37; Abil Garcia, 46; and Gabriel Garcia, 20, all listed as being from Mexico—were also injured and taken to the hospital.
Marshall was injured and transported to Central Washington Hospital as well. The driver of the third vehicle, Robert S. Driscoll, 52, of Leavenworth, was not injured.
Authorities reported that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and charges involving Marshall are pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Jeep driven by Marshall and the Toyota carrying Alejo and the other occupants were both totaled and towed from the scene. The third vehicle, a 2022 Ford F-250, was driven away from the crash site.
