Dakari Lomax Obituary—Car Accident: In Loving Memory of 6-Month-Old Dakari Lomax After Tragic Harvey Crash
In loving memory of six-month-old Dakari Lomax, whose precious young life was tragically cut short following a devastating Labor Day weekend crash in Harvey, Illinois.
The heartbreaking collision happened on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at approximately 5:46 p.m. on Interstate 57 near 147th Street.
According to authorities, Latasha M. Hope, 33, of Hazel Crest, was arrested in connection with the crash after the red Ford SUV she was driving reportedly left the roadway and struck a light pole.
Dakari, who was only six months old, was among those affected by the crash. Despite emergency efforts, the infant did not survive, leaving family members and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.
A child’s life carries endless possibilities—first steps, first words, future dreams, and countless memories that families hope to share. For Dakari’s loved ones, those moments have been heartbreakingly taken away far too soon.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and the allegations against Hope will proceed through the legal process.
Beyond the details of an investigation is the life of a little boy who mattered deeply. Dakari was a beloved child whose presence brought love and meaning to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on through the people who cherished him.
Our deepest condolences go out to Dakari Lomax’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
May baby Dakari Lomax rest in peace.
