PEORIA COUNTY, Illinois — A severe two-vehicle collision on Monday morning has claimed the life of 35-year-old Samantha M. Hobbick of Chillicothe. As reported by regional media outlets covering Peoria County, including the Journal Star, the fatal traffic incident occurred during the morning commute on September 14, 2026, along Illinois Route 29.
Route 29 Impact and Emergency Transport
According to official press bulletins issued by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police, emergency dispatchers received reports of a serious crash at approximately 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Illinois Route 29 and Marquette Street near Rome. Responding Illinois State Police troopers, local fire department personnel, and paramedics arrived at the scene to find two damaged vehicles blocking the roadway.
