The La Grande Princess community in the U.S. Virgin Islands is mourning the tragic death of 29-year-old Ricardo Richards, who was fatally shot at the Princess Villas Housing Apartments on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
According to the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD), multiple emergency calls were received at approximately 2:21 p.m. reporting the sound of gunshots in the Princess Villas community. Additional callers reported that an unresponsive male was found lying on the ground.
VIPD officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene after receiving the reports. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who showed no signs of life.
The victim was later identified by a family member as Ricardo Richards.
