Diego Garcia Tepec and Juan Ortega Juarez Obituary-Car Accidenr: Two Fresno Men Killed in Tragic Crash
With heavy hearts, the Fresno community is mourning the tragic loss of 56-year-old Diego Garcia Tepec and 57-year-old Juan Ortega Juarez, two Fresno men whose lives were cut short in a devastating two-vehicle crash Monday morning, September 28, 2026.
The fatal collision occurred around 7:50–8 a.m. on Lincoln Avenue between Cornelia and Blythe avenues in Fresno County, in a remote agricultural area west of Easton. According to the California Highway Patrol, Diego was driving a Nissan Sentra west on Lincoln Avenue with Juan as a passenger.
Investigators said a large cloud of dust from almond harvesting in an orchard south of Lincoln Avenue had significantly reduced visibility. As the Nissan traveled through the dust cloud, a Honda Civic approached from behind and rear-ended the vehicle.
The force of the collision trapped Diego and Juan inside the Nissan. The vehicle continued west before coming to rest hundreds of feet from the initial point of impact, while the Honda came to rest in an orchard north of the roadway.
When emergency responders arrived, both Diego and Juan were found deceased at the scene. The 36-year-old Fresno man driving the Honda suffered severe injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. All three occupants were reported to have been wearing seatbelts.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as the California Highway Patrol works to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
