LOGAN, Utah — Gabe Reilly, a 27-year-old firefighter with the Salt Lake City Fire Department, died Sunday morning, September 27, 2026, following a fatal wingsuit accident near Leetham’s Hollow, east of Millville Canyon in Cache County.
According to officials with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, Reilly was participating in a group wingsuit flight with eight to ten individuals when he launched from a cliff face approximately 700 feet above ground level. During the flight, a technical malfunction with his wingsuit caused a loss of aerodynamic lift, leading to a rapid descent and hard impact with the terrain. Emergency dispatchers received distress calls at approximately 9:10 a.m., triggering a multi-agency response. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team, supported by a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter and a Life Flight medical crew, navigated the rugged terrain to reach the site, where Reilly was pronounced deceased.
