A 24-year-old Pennsylvania mother who was just days away from welcoming her third child has been identified by family members as one of eight victims killed in a devastating murder-su*cide in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday, Oct. 9.
Angelina Stone was eight months pregnant when she and her two young children, 5-year-old Isaiah Hodges and 1-year-old Amari’anna, were reportedly shot and killed inside a home on Perry Street. 😢
Angelina was expecting another baby, a boy she planned to name Kyrie, on Oct. 14 — just five days after the tragedy.
On Sept. 25, Angelina shared an ultrasound photo of her unborn son, writing, “Momma cant wait to hold you.”
Tragically, she will never get that opportunity.
According to Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 5 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Perry Street.
Witnesses reported seeing a man firing a handgun outside a residence before retreating inside.
When officers arrived, they discovered two women dead outside the home. The gunman had barricaded himself inside, prompting a response from SWAT officers.
Police repeatedly attempted to get the man to surrender, but additional gunshots were heard inside the residence.
When officers eventually entered, they discovered multiple victims throughout the home, including young children.
Nine people were found dead, including the suspected gunman, who authorities believe died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police confirmed that the victims included a pregnant woman, a 5-year-old boy, a 1-year-old girl, three additional adult women and two young adult men.
According to reports circulating among family members, the suspected gunman was Angelina’s father, identified as Matthew Stone. However, authorities had not officially confirmed his identity or a motive as of Saturday.
Investigators also revealed that surveillance footage captured two women arriving at the residence shortly before they were shot. The women reportedly appeared distressed and were attempting to seek help.
The tragedy has devastated Angelina’s family, who are now facing the unimaginable task of arranging funerals for a young mother and her children.
