GLENVILLE, New York — October 16, 2026 — A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Corinth, New York, died Thursday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a car on State Route 50 in Glenville, according to local news reports citing police.
The victim was identified as Maxwell David Jones. The collision occurred at approximately 3:13 p.m. on October 15 near the intersection of Saratoga Road, also known as Route 50, and Kingsbury Road.
According to Glenville police, Jones was traveling northbound on Route 50 when a car pulled out from Kingsbury Road and entered the motorcycle’s path. The vehicles collided, leaving the motorcyclist with fatal injuries.
Investigators said witnesses and video footage supported the possibility that the car’s driver did not see the approaching motorcycle before entering the roadway. Authorities have not released a final determination of fault, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
Following the collision, police closed a section of Saratoga Road between High Mills Scotch Bush Road and Lake Hill Road while investigators examined the scene and reconstructed the crash.
The closure remained in place for several hours as emergency personnel and law enforcement officers carried out their work. The roadway reopened after 7 p.m., according to local reporting.
Glenville police are continuing to investigate the fatal collision. Authorities have not announced a final conclusion about contributing factors or any potential charges in the reports reviewed.
The death has brought renewed attention to the risks motorcyclists face when other vehicles enter a roadway or turn across their path. Drivers are urged to check carefully for approaching traffic at intersections, while recognizing that the specific findings in this case must come from investigators.
Further details may be released as the investigation progresses.
