CORSICANA, Texas** — Police in Corsicana are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a man shortly after midnight Sunday in the 200 block of North 5th Street. Two male suspects have reportedly surrendered to authorities as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
According to the information released about the case, officers responding to the scene found the victim lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim, and additional details about what led to the shooting remain limited.
Police Recover Abandoned Suspect Vehicle
As the investigation progressed, detectives reportedly located a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. The vehicle was found abandoned and was subsequently impounded as investigators worked to gather evidence.
The recovery of the vehicle may help detectives establish the events leading up to the shooting, determine how those involved arrived at or left the scene, and identify evidence relevant to the investigation. However, authorities have not publicly disclosed what evidence, if any, was recovered from the vehicle.
Police also reported that two male suspects surrendered to law enforcement following the shooting. Their identities have not been released, and officials have not announced formal charges in the information provided.
The circumstances surrounding their alleged involvement remain under investigation. A surrender does not establish guilt, and any allegations must be addressed through the legal process.
Victim’s Identity and Motive Remain Unknown
Investigators have not yet released the victim’s name or provided details about a possible motive. It also remains unclear whether the victim knew either of the suspects or whether the shooting followed an argument, dispute, or other encounter.
Authorities have not publicly explained what prompted the gunfire or described the events immediately before the victim was shot.
As detectives continue their work, they may seek additional witness accounts, surveillance footage, physical evidence, and other information that could help reconstruct the incident. No specific motive or sequence of events should be considered confirmed until investigators release further findings.

The Corsicana Police Department is asking anyone with information that could assist the homicide investigation to contact Detective Tommy Ordonez at **903-654-4914**.

**This remains a developing story.** The suspects’ identities, formal charges, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been confirmed in the information available for this report. Anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
