The Drexel University community is mourning after the tragic death of a student Sunday afternoon at The Summit at University City, an affiliated off-campus student housing complex near the university in Philadelphia.
The incident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. at the 24-story residential tower located at 3400 Lancaster Avenue. According to information shared with students by the university, a male student died following an apparent suicide.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, and the student was pronounced dead. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the incident.
