NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia — The rugby community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Felesha Jasper, who died on Friday at just 12 years old.
Felesha’s passing has left her family, teammates, coaches, friends and the wider rugby community devastated. Tributes describe her as a talented young player whose passion for rugby began when she was only three years old.
Remembering Felesha Jasper
Rugby was a major part of Felesha’s short but remarkable life. Her journey began with Valley/Cougars before she played minis with Dundas, Liverpool and Penrith.
She went on to represent Two Blues Juniors, Koori Rugby, Pacifica Rugby and the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team. She was also named Player of the Tournament at King of the Hills and became the only girl selected for her U12 State Championships team.
Her rugby journey continued through clubs including Hawkesbury and Merrylands, while she represented Two Blues Juniors in both sevens and 15s.
Those who coached and played alongside Felesha remember more than her ability on the field. She was a much-loved teammate, friend and member of a close rugby family.
